GREAT BRITAIN Gold 1/2 Crown Pattern, "1799" (ca. 1820-38). Prince George (future George IV). Dies by J. Milton for Col. W. Fullerton and struck by Matthew Young. Weight: 19.54 gms. Possessing immense RARITY and importance, this specimen emanates from a series of patterns featuring the future king, styled here as the High Steward of Scotland and the Duke of Cornwall (Princeps Senescaltus Scotiae Cornubiae Dux), and not as the Prince of Wales. While seen in other denominations, a gold version of this larger denomination represents an exceptional feat, and may absolutely be considered a tremendous opportunity for the advanced collector of patterns and trials, or world gold issues more broadly; we are unable to trace another example in this composition and it very well may be UNIQUE as such.Proof minimal gewellt
